Ley Line was formed when Austinites Kate Robberson and Emilie Basez met twin sisters Madeleine and Lydia Froncek at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in 2013. They reunited in 2015 and began a musical journey of multilingual harmonies with upright bass, guitar, ukulele, and percussion. World travel inspires the band to blend rhythms from Latin America, Brazil, and West Africa to create an infectious groove. The band’s 2016 debut, “Field Notes”, is a combination of original songs and world music pulsing with vibrant acoustic soul. Ley Line is currently collaborating with Brazilian artists to create a multimedia album that will be released in 2018.
